Workshops and Milonga with
Vatan and Georgia
Saturday, August 23 rd.
Vatan Koc, a native of Turkey, has been teaching and performing for 7 years in the United States.. Georgia Ahrens, his wife and (one of his first students), has been his dance partner and co-teacher for 2 years. Their teaching style emphasizes strong leading and following techniques and body mechanics. Their training, initially from Baila Tango - an international Argentine Tango organization, has been influenced by instruction from Caroline and Diego, Mariana Galassi, Guillarmina, Mariela Franganillo, Ney Melo, Facundo and Kely, Pablo Pugliese, Pablo Veron, Cecilia Gonzalez, Bulent and Marika and others. 1:30 pm – 3:00 pm
Techniques for Shifting Weight (all levels):
This is an exciting and important class for novice dancers (and challenging for intermediate dancers). We will work with techniques for leading and “not leading” weight changes while learning split - weight turns and surprise turns.
3:30 pm – 5:00 pm
Working with the Loose Leg (Intermediate):
This is where tango gets fun and creative. We will work with the concept of “the loose leg” while learning some cool sacada-boleo combinations.

2 classes + milonga - $40
